Estimated Delivery Time: After your order is dispatched, most deliveries are made within 4-5 working days. However, the delivery time may vary based on your location and the courier service in your area.
Dispatch Schedule: All orders are dispatched at the beginning of each week (Monday to Wednesday). Please note, that delivery times may be impacted during public holidays, festive seasons, or if there is a high volume of orders. These delays are usually temporary, and we work hard to get your order to you as quickly as possible.
Can I Return My Plants?
We love our plants, and we want you to love yours too! However, due to the nature of our products, SeedPlex does not accept plant returns. This policy is in place because plants are living products, and shipping them back and forth can cause unnecessary stress, which may result in the plant’s decline.
Plant Care Upon Arrival: It’s normal for plants to look a little stressed or dull when they first arrive, as the journey may cause temporary changes in appearance. Don’t worry—your plant will likely bounce back with proper care, water, and sunlight. Here are a few tips:
- Water your plant as needed.
- Give it time to acclimate to its new environment.
- After one week, consider repotting your plant to help it settle into its new home.
Our Promise: We guarantee that your plants will arrive in good condition. Should there be any issues, please contact us within 24 hours, and we’ll resolve the issue promptly.

Why We Don’t Send Plants in Plastic Pots?
When purchasing live plants online, one of the first things you may notice is that your plant doesn’t arrive in a traditional plastic pot. Instead, many plants are shipped in Poly Grow Bags, often wrapped with a protective layer of cardboard. If you’re wondering why this choice is made, you’re not alone. In this article, we’ll explain the reasoning behind why we don’t send plants in plastic pots, and why Poly Grow Bags are the easiest, safest, and most effective option for transporting live plants.
1. Plastic Pots Are Unusable After Transplanting
The primary reason we avoid using plastic pots for shipping plants is that plastic pots are only useful for transport. When you receive a plant in a plastic pot, it’s likely that the pot will not serve any further purpose after you transplant the plant into a larger container or garden bed. Here’s why:
1. Small and Confining: Plastic pots used for shipping are typically small, designed only to hold the plant during its journey. Once the plant arrives at your doorstep, the pot has already become too small to support the plant’s growth. At this point, you will need to transplant the plant into a bigger pot or a garden bed to allow the roots to expand and thrive.
2. Limited Lifespan: These small plastic pots are intended for temporary use only. Once the plant is in a larger container, the pot is discarded, which leads to unnecessary waste and contributes to environmental pollution.
2. Poly Grow Bags Are the Safest Way to Transport Live Plants
Shipping live plants involves a lot of care, as plants are delicate and require extra attention during transport. Poly Grow Bags are a safer and more reliable alternative to plastic pots for several key reasons:
1. Flexibility and Durability: Unlike rigid plastic pots, Poly Grow Bags are flexible and durable. This allows them to move slightly during transit without breaking or cracking, which can sometimes happen with plastic pots. This flexibility also ensures that the plant and its root system are safely secured throughout the shipping process.
2. Breathability: Poly Grow Bags are made from breathable fabric, which allows air to circulate around the plant’s roots. This is essential for preventing root rot, a condition that can arise from excess moisture and lack of airflow in a plastic pot. Breathability helps the plant stay healthy during shipping and ensures that the roots don’t become waterlogged or overheated.
3. Moisture Retention: Unlike plastic pots, which can dry out quickly, Poly Grow Bags retain moisture better and ensure that your plant’s roots remain hydrated during transit. Proper hydration is critical for plant health, especially during long shipping times.
4. No Root Disturbance: The flexible nature of Poly Grow Bags allows the plant to settle comfortably in the bag without disturbing the roots. The bag is also easy to remove when you’re ready to transplant, reducing transplant shock for the plant.
3. Plastic Pots Are Just for Transport, Not Long-Term Use
One of the most important distinctions between plastic pots and Poly Grow Bags is their intended purpose. Plastic pots are designed for transport, not long-term plant care. When a plant is shipped in a plastic pot, the primary goal is to secure the plant for the duration of the journey. Once the plant reaches you, the small pot usually needs to be discarded and replaced with a larger container to allow for growth. This is where Poly Grow Bags shine:
1. Long-Term Usability: Poly Grow Bags are designed to be more versatile than small plastic pots. They can be used for longer periods as the plant grows, eliminating the need to transfer the plant to a different pot immediately after receiving it.
2. Encouraging Healthy Growth: Poly Grow Bags allow the plant to grow in a space that encourages healthy root development. Unlike plastic pots, which can restrict root growth and cause plants to become “root-bound,” Poly Grow Bags encourage air pruning, leading to a more vigorous root system that supports the overall health of the plant.
3. No Waste: Since Poly Grow Bags are reusable and can accommodate the plant as it grows, you’re not left with a disposable plastic pot to throw away. This significantly reduces the amount of plastic waste and supports a more sustainable gardening practice.
4. Each Plant Is Wrapped in a Protective Layer of Cardboard
Shipping live plants requires extra care, and we take every precaution to ensure that your plant arrives in the best possible condition. In addition to using Poly Grow Bags, we also wrap each plant in a protective layer of cardboard for added safety. This extra step provides several key benefits:
1. Physical Protection: The cardboard wrap shields the plant from potential damage during transit. It helps prevent the plant from being crushed or jostled too much, reducing the risk of physical injury to the plant and its roots.
2. Temperature Regulation: Cardboard also acts as a natural insulator. It helps regulate the temperature around the plant, providing some protection against extreme cold or heat, which can damage the plant during transit. This is especially helpful when shipping plants across different climates or during seasonal changes.
3. Moisture Retention: The cardboard wrap helps keep the soil inside the Poly Grow Bag moist for a longer period, preventing it from drying out too quickly. This ensures the plant has the hydration it needs while in transit.
5. Poly Grow Bags Promote Healthier Root Systems
One of the main reasons we opt for Poly Grow Bags is that they encourage healthier root development than plastic pots. Here’s how:
1. Air Circulation: The breathable material of Poly Grow Bags allows air to reach the roots, helping prevent root rot and encouraging the development of a stronger, more efficient root system.
2. Air Pruning: As roots grow toward the edge of the bag and encounter air, they stop growing and are pruned naturally. This results in a more complex and fibrous root system, which is better equipped to absorb nutrients and water.
3. Reduced Transplant Shock: When you transplant a plant from a plastic pot, the roots are often disturbed, which can cause shock. With Poly Grow Bags, the flexible nature of the material allows the plant to be removed more easily, causing less stress on the roots.
6. The Environmental Impact of Poly Grow Bags
In today’s world, sustainability is a crucial factor in any industry, including horticulture. Plastic pots contribute to environmental pollution, as they are often used once and discarded. Poly Grow Bags, on the other hand, are an eco-friendly solution:
1. Reusable and Recyclable: Poly Grow Bags can be reused for multiple growing seasons, making them more sustainable than traditional plastic pots. They are often made from recyclable materials, so they don’t end up in landfills after a single use.
2. Reduced Plastic Waste: By opting for Poly Grow Bags, we are significantly reducing the amount of plastic waste in the environment. This contributes to a cleaner, healthier planet.
7. A More Convenient Way to Transplant Your Plants
When you receive a plant in a Poly Grow Bag, transplanting becomes a much simpler task. The bag is easy to remove, and the plant’s roots are less disturbed during the process. Since the bags are flexible, you can gently slide the plant out and place it into its new container without the risk of damaging the plant.
