Description
Bitter Gourd, commonly known as Karela in India is a unique tropical vine grown for its edible vegetable. The Bitter Gourd contains high amounts of fibre, phosphorous, and Vitamins C, B1, B2, and B3. Bitter gourd is a fast growing climber and belongs to the vine family. It is also known as nutritious gourd and bitter melon. Bitter gourd plants vary in shape, size, and color.

Planting and care
- Watering should be done when the soil feels dry.
- When fully dried, the fruits will split open and you can harvest the white or brown seeds for later sowing.
Bitter Gourd care
- Raised beds 120 cm wide (120 cm) Seeds are sown at 2 x 1. 5 m spacing.
- Watering is carried out in the beds.
- Soak seeds in water over night before sowing for better germination.
